Computer program for the analysis and desing of prestressed elements

PRODEP

It is a program developed by ERN for the analysis and design of pretensioned and post-tensioned elements of simply supported or continuous beams, of constant or variable section and for different restraint conditions.

The program allows to use the cross sections commonly manufactured by the companies dedicated to precast in Mexico, with the possibility of modifying some of the parameters that defined them.

Graphs



CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Language selection, Spanish or English.
  • It allows to analyze beams with simple or compound cross sections, and also that they can be constant or variable along the beam.
  • For the design, the graphs of the stresses (in the upper and lower fiber of the beam) of the transition and service states, as well as the graphs of bending, shear and deflection are
  • obtained.
  • The calculation of initial and deferred partial losses is performed.
  • The platform allows the user to define segmented beams.
  • Static loads of punctual, uniform, trapezoidal and concentrated moments can be stablished.
  • Performs the analysis of vehicular live loads on the beam.
  • Contains three unit systems: metric, English and international.

VEHICULAR LIVE LOADS

A system of vehicular live loads that represents the weight and distribution of a vehicle on the surface of the structure can be added. The applied vehicular live loads correspond in many cases to trucks, buses, automobiles, construction equipment, cyclists, pedestrians. The program has loaded some vehicular live load systems commonly used in bridge design, such as the models IMT 66.5 and IMT 20.5 of the TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE CODE of the SCT of Mexico in 2009.

GRAPHS

This submenu lists the graphs that can be obtained with the program and whose characteristics will be described below.

SECTION

Indicates the characteristics from the section cuts of the selected element. In this window you can modify the section length, section type (rectangular, T, I, caisson, double T and hollow slabs), the parameters of some of these cuts, deck slab properties when it is a compound section, and indicate that the section has linear variation with the length of some of the parameters for which the parameters of the right section cut should be defined.

LOADS

Add loads to the selected element, in this window you can define loads:
  • Point
  • Uniform
  • Trapezoidal
  • Concentrated moments
They are assigned to one of the load cases of the program:
  • Dead weight
  • Live load
  • Superimposed dead load
  • Other loads

Reports and Graphs of results.

PRODEP generates the calculation report from the design and the properties of the beam. These reports can be exported directly to a PDF file.

The graphs and drawings are shown only in two dimensions. The user can quickly know the values of a graph at a certain point. The graphs of the mechanical elements are shown covering a larger area in the work window.

Catalogs.

  • Contains catalogs of reinforcement and Prestress steels.
  • The cross sections can be imported from a text file with coordinates of each vertex.
  • Wide catalog of cross sections.
  • Contains a catalog of vehicular live load systems, including the IMT 66.5 and IMT 20.5 models of the TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE CODE of the Communications and Transport Secretariat of Mexico (SCT) from 2009.

Code.


Code

For the new version of the platform, a refinement of the three different codes RCDF, ACI and AASHTO is proposed, used in its version 1.0. This new version will make the calculation of the resistant mechanic elements with the own and updated expressions of each code.
